I went up to the BAMCafe for the first time last night to catch Tiombe Lockhart perform as part of the AfroPunk Festival. I had to take these on the sly because there was security there and photoging was prohibited. Whatevs man. Sodi gave me some tracks of hers last year and I fell for her instantly. Her songs are great and her voice is unique. Her style is pretty fly too. Like so many would be songbirds out there, she's on her grind, but she's one of the few that's kept my attention and after this short but satisfying set, I gotta say I'm rooting for this girl. I hope she blows up.
